If the trade war between the US and China does not go in flames, Huawei should release the Mate 30 devices in Fall. The highly-anticipated Mate flagships are likely to keep with a square-ish camera setup on the back. According to one leaskter, the Huawei Mate 30 will have a 40 MP + 40 MP + 8 MP combo.

The 40 MP sensor will have 1/1.5” size with an aperture around f/1.6. However, it can be further improved to f/1.4. The main snapper will be paired with an RYYB pixel layout, it will also be present in the Huawei Mate 30 Pro flagship. The camera setup will also come with Cine Lens features. This feature is similar to what Sony did with Xperia 1 and its Cinema Pro features.

The secondary 40 MP camera will capture ultra-wide-angle photos. While these sensors aren’t known for the best image quality, a rumor suggests that Huawei has something in its sleeve. It will come with a 120º field of view and f/1.7 aperture and also supports Cine Lens features. The third sensor has a telephoto lens with 5X Zoom.

Rumored specs for the Huawei Mate 30 include the Kirin 985 chipset with a 5G modem, 55W fast-charging support and up to 10W wireless reverse charging. Rumors suggest that these devices won’t come with Android, marking the debut of Huawei’s mobile OS. However, only time will confirm these rumors.
