Early this year, Vivo’s gaming brand iQOO unveiled the iQOO 3 as a gaming smartphone. However, it’s closer to a modern “standard” smartphone than to anything we have in the gaming phone segment. Among the things the differentiate this from devices like the Nubia Redmi Magic 5G, for example, is iQOO 3 standard 60Hz display. Now, the company wants to fix this with a new phone dubbed iQOO Neo 3 which will be a “proper” competitor to phones from BlackShark and Nubia.
Back in the last month, the first teaser suggested that the iQOO Neo 3 will debut with a high-refresh-rate display. Now, leaked images that were allegedly taken from the Neo 3 suggests the 120Hz refresh rate. Moreover, the company will offer three specific modes with this smartphone – 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz. This is a major step in order to allow users to set a balance between screen quality and battery efficiency. Other companies like Samsung didn’t offer an intermediary 90Hz option on its flagship phones. There is a third option on top of all frequencies and we believe that it is a mode where the system will dynamically adjust the refresh rate according to what you’re doing.

Besides the refresh rate screenshot, there’s also an image showing the About Phone section. It confirms the Snapdragon 865 along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The configuration isn’t a surprise as it isn’t much from different to what we have on the iQOO 3. Unfortunately, there’s still no confirmation from iQOO regarding the launch date. Considering that India will be a key market for this device, we believe that the company will wait until the company lifts the lockdown policies.
