Oppo, Realme, OnePlus and Vivo are facing a serious problem in India

Because of the coronavirus pandemic, many companies are facing serious challenges. Among them is the Chinese BBK, which owns the brands Oppo, Realme, OnePlus and Vivo. The holding cannot fully satisfy the demand in the Indian market due to a number of factors, which we will consider below.

Oppo, Realme, OnePlus and Vivo are facing a serious problem in India

Oppo is a contract manufacturer of OnePlus and Realme smartphones for India. All devices sold by these two brands in the country are made in Oppo facilities, which are currently shut.

First, the company’s plant was closed under the general quarantine, which applied to every company in the country. Then the production lines were supposed to open, but in the early days, several more workers were diagnosed, which is why the government decided to re-close the factory.

Because of this, the OnePlus 8 smartphone went on sale recently only in a limited edition, and the Pro version of the flagship is still not officially available in the country.

Given the difficult financial situation of most of the citizens of India, the inhabitants of the second most populated country in the world have always preferred low-cost devices sold by the Realme brand. Due to the production stoppage, new smartphones of this company do not appear. And it is not difficult to guess that the holding does not satisfy demand and loses serious profit.

According to the president of the All-India Association of Mobile Retailers, other manufacturers have faced a similar situation. So the virus negatively affected the entire industry.

He also said that due to the low margin in the budget price segment of the market and the unpopularity of smartphones that are more expensive, approximately 20% of retailers will not be able to continue selling without government support.

OnePlus Z

OnePlus is popular for upper mid-range smartphones, providing flagship-level specifications at half the price. The OnePlus 8 series was available back in April 2020. Two smartphones were in the line: OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Although, the two devices came up with topnotch specifications but failed to impress the fans. OnePlus was offering good value for the price. But the series arrived with higher prices than the previous generation. The OnePlus 8 starts at $699 while the Pro version starts at $899. This is quite an increment from previous generations. I won’t go in detail here, but you got the point right?

Now, there are more opportunities for OnePlus to launch their devices like a mid-range phone. And we were already expecting it with OnePlus 8 launch but sadly it didn’t come. But now we have got a big hint that OnePlus mid-range device aka OnePlus Z is coming. OnePlus may count on the OnePlus Z phone a lot to revive sales after this pandemic.
