Since its return in 2020, the POCO X-series is one of the most exciting for POCO enthusiasts. That lineup brought interesting devices like the POCO X3 and POCO X3 Pro. Both devices brought good specifications for a lot less than conventional flagships. The POCO X3 NFC was quite important in 2020. After all, the device brought a 120 Hz display, a huge battery with fast charging, a 64 MP camera, and a decent processor when most of the mid-ranges were lagging behind. The POCO X3 Pro was a big step forward with the Snapdragon 860. That processor was based on the SD855+ and brought flagship performance at the price of a mid-range phone. Unfortunately, the brand decided to step back with the X4 Pro 5G bringing a mid-range Snapdragon 695. Similarly, the POCO X5 and POCO X5 Pro will remain in the mid-range segment.
According to new leaks, POCO is moving on to introduce the POCO X5 series in the first weeks of 2023. Those waiting for something at the flagship level like the POCO X3 Pro will be disappointed. The phone will remain a mid-range but brings 5G like the last year’s generation. The brand is preparing the POCO X5 5G and POCO X5 Pro, and thanks to the leakster Kacper Skrzypek we know some of the specifications for these devices. In fact, as usual for POCO, they will be based on existing Redmi phones.
