Huawei has recently applied for two new trademarks, “Hongmeng Galaxy” and “HarmonyOS NEXT,” indicating the company’s ongoing development and expansion of its HarmonyOS ecosystem. At the Harmony Ecosystem Qiansai Sailing Ceremony held on January 18, Huawei announced the HarmonyOS NEXT and Harmony Galaxy system developer preview version. The company said at the event that they are now open for apps. It also promised to launch the developer Beta program in Q2 this year and release the commercial version in Q4 this year.Ā
According to Huawei, the HarmonyOS NEXT developer preview version will no longer be compatible with Android open-source apps. It will only support Harmony kernel and system apps,Ā so it is called “pure-blooded Harmony”. Harmony Galaxy Edition will achieve six ultimate native experiences. These features are native refinement, apps, smoothness, security, intelligence, and interconnection.
According to previous warm-up videos, the Harmony Galaxy Edition focuses on concepts such as “Spatial”, “Vivid Color” and “Immersive” (spatial, colourful, immersive) in design.
